Lawn Fertilizer Program
Our Fertilizer Program is based on a simple approach, great lawns need more than just watering and cutting.
In order to maintain a beautiful lawn, nutrients are needed to allow the grass to become lush and strong. Galbraith’s offers premier lawn fertilization services proven to help your lawn reach the perfect level of softness and strength. We offer a comprehensive lawn care program designed to provide the right nutrients, in the right quantities at the right time.
The main component of our professional lawn care program is fertilization. Turf grass by its nature is fast growing. That means that it quickly uses nutrients and micro-nutrients from the soil during a regular growing season. To maintain your soil’s nutrient level for optimum turf growth, it requires supplements to be added.
Our lawn applications are applied regularly depending on weather conditions. If you don’t see visible results within 30 days after an application, let us know. We offer free service calls for your convenience and satisfaction.
Choosing the Right Lawn Care Company
Choosing a lawn care company that suits your specific needs and treats you as they would want to be treated will save you time, money, and hassle throughout the growing season. Don’t get caught up in price alone. Often times low price means low service. That is when choosing between Galbraith’s and another company to treat your property, please consider the follow advantages of working with us:

- State certified and properly trained applicators that can diagnose potential issues before they become serious problems.
Our 6-Step Fertilization & Weed Control Progam
|Round 1: March / April||Our March/April application features an all-granular time-released fertilizer with crabgrass pre-emergent. This application serves two major purposes. First, it infuses your soil and root system with vital nutrients to help your lawn recover from dormancy at maximum health. Secondly, and just as important, it introduces a pre-emergent into the soil to prevent the growth of crabgrass.|
|Round 2: April / May||This treatment contains a nitrogen-rich, time-released fertilizer and liquid blanket weed control. We also include an iron supplement starting with this application. Iron is a very important micro nutrient to turfgrass. It increases the ability of the grass to produce food and thus ensures the deep-green color that you expect from a thriving lawn. This application is designed to insure your lawn doesn’t run out of essential nutrients during a time of explosive growth and to remove any newly germinated weeds throughout the property.|
|Round 3: June / July||This application is a deep-greening time-released fertilizer and liquid weed control. This application re-introduces nutrients to maintain healthy growth moving into the heat of the summer and provides the technician an opportunity to treat for remaining weeds and diagnose any issues present in the lawn.|
|Round 4: July / August||For our late summer application we apply an all-granular, low-nitrogen, 100% moisture-released fertilizer. The reason we apply fertilizer this time of year is that summer can be a very stressful time on a lawn. If left without available nitrogen throughout this time, the turf can suffer needless damage from premature dormancy. The special non-burning fertilizer we use is specifically designed to remain on the soil until there is ample moisture to activate it. That same moisture that activates the fertilizer also awakens the grass from its dormancy and then promotes quicker recovery and faster green up. This service also contains a weed control spot treatment to eliminate any really tough summer annual weeds.|
|Round 5: September / October||This treatment once again applies a deep-greening time-released fertilizer. During this time root growth begins again because of the decrease in soil temperature and increase in natural rainfall and the nutrients we apply will be quickly used for the production of new roots and shoots. Fertilizing at this time of year will provide the grass with the needed food it needs to recover and re-grow rapidly. The early fall visit as includes a blanket application of weed control to beat back all the newly emerging late season weeds.|
|Round 6: November / December||The late fall application is essential to a healthy lawn and can be thought of as a “bridge” to the next spring. During this visit we will apply a high rate of nitrogen-rich, quick-release fertilizer. When applied in late fall this fast acting fertilizer will not be used by the turf immediately, but will instead be stored by the grass and used slowly throughout the winter. The benefits of this process are better winter color, earlier spring green up, and increased root density.|
Every property is different. You can setup any amount of applications you want to. Generally if you are trying to improve the conditions of a lawn we recommend using the full 6 applications for at least the first 12 months of service. Once we get the lawn to the point you are happy with it, we can maintain a beautifully green and weed-free lawn with just 4 or 5 treatments going forward. But, if you are looking to maximize your lawn’s potential we highly recommend keeping the full 6 treatments.
No. You do not have to be home when we do a treatment. We do call or email you the day before service to let you know we are going to be on your property the next day. We knock on the door to let you know that we are there before we begin on your property. Then when we are completed, we will put notification flags the front and back yards and leave a time stamped statement on your door. This statement is left to let you know what we did that day and communicate any information about issues we may have noticed.
No. Our applications are timed automatically to be done about every 30-45 days. This is the optimum window for reapplication of fertilizer that gives the lawn maximum results with the minimum chance of over-fertilization. If for any reason you feel that a service is needed before the next schedule visit, you can always contact us for a free service call.
