Galbraith's Nursery in 1965 "Notice that Arlington Park Doesn't Yet Exist"
Founded in 1951 by Dave Galbraith, Galbraith's Landscaping began its history as one of 4 landscape contractors in the Fort Wayne Area. After being in business for 15 years Dave felt that his bustling company was quickly outgrowing its original humble location on Goshen Road, across the street from the current Gateway Plaza. In 1965, he decided to purchase a small farm with a vintage barn on Indiana 37 in Northeast Allen County. This area has now grown considerably and since been annexed into the City of Fort Wayne.
In 1971 Galbraith's Landscaping was incorporated as Dave Galbraith & Sons Landscaping with the inclusion of 2 of his sons into the business. In 1980 Dave felt the calling of retirement and relinquished control of his company to one of his sons, Dan. Today 52 years after its inception a third generation of the Galbraith family has entered into the company. With this inclusion we feel that the company philosophy that Galbraith's was founded on can successfully continue into the future. We believe that you our customer has the right to select from the largest, most complete stock of quality nursery plants available, with the service and expertise to assist you in making that perfect choice. We are currently returning to our roots by changing our name back to what it once was, just simply Galbraith's Landscaping & Garden Center.
In this, our 54th year in business, we currently carry one of the finest selections of nursery stock in the area with over 600 different plants, all hardy to the Fort Wayne area. In addition to that, we carry one of the single largest selections of quality tested Jackson & Perkins potted roses in North America. And we don't stop there. Galbraith's is also a large retailer of creative Henri Studio fountains and statuary, and the area's local supplier of Fertrell Organic Fertilizers.
